hail mary, mother of the digestive tract,
we thank you for the toilet.
and though we hope that it is western style with toilet paper,
we are thankful for a squat toilet with a sprayer.
and may our need for the toilet on public transport be small,
and may the toilets in our hostels and guest houses be clean,
and may we never need to pray to the porcelain god.
